Cancelled podcast hosts Tana Mongeau and Brooke Schofield have shared their opinion on Chappell Roan’s fame crisis as they argue that what she’s experiencing is part of what she signed up for
Cancelled podcast hosts Tana Mongeau and Brooke Schofield have shared their scathing hot take on Chappell Roan’s fame crisis as fans accuse them of “victim blaming.”
During the latest episode of Cancelled, the duo sat down and shared their controversial take on Chappell Roan as the pop singer has been entangled in controversy in recent weeks. This comes as Chappell has publicly slammed her fans for abuse and harassment, cancelled shows last minute, refused to endorse a presidential candidate and cussed out a photographer on the VMA’s red carpet.
Since this, Chappell has opened up about her dramatic lifestyle change and the negative impacted her mental health. And as the 26-year-old singer continues to struggle with her new life in the spotlight, Brooke and Tana have weighed in with their thoughts partially arguing that what she’s experiencing is the price of fame.

In a clip from their new podcast episode, Tana went on to highlight some of Chappell’s biggest controversies this year and said: “I think the combo of just like ‘I f—— hate my fans’ and then like I’m going to perform this festival – actually it’s cancelled I gotta prioritize me. Like the smack pack of those two.” Brooke chimed in: “Yeah it’s like choose a struggle.”

After the pair shared their thoughts on Chappell’s controversies, listeners took to Reddit sharing their thoughts on the situation. One user furiously wrote: “Wrong take on the Chappell Roan situation babes theyre literally giving victim blaming and being like ‘this is what you signed up for’ ‘this is normal’ just because Tana has been so desensitized about being famous, doesnt mean that someone else needs to ADJUST to the f—– mistreatment. She literally became famous overnight, that cant be good for literally anyone.”

Many others agreed with this in the comment section as someone else replied: “Literally these same b—— who will mention how horrible people were to Britney will be the same ones telling Chapel ‘get used to it.'” And another added: “And also ‘fans’ were harassing and stalking her family. Brooke should remember how those two fans were calling and sending explicit messages to her grandpa before she opened her overfilled mouth. God, I am HEATED.”
But other viewers agreed with Brooke and Tana’s take as one viewer wrote: “even to the average person, chappells behavior has been incredibly s—-. doesnt take a famous person to see that.” And another replied: “Chapell comes across very entitled and I actually love her music. I also agree.” While someone else chimed in: “I actually agreed with their take & was really glad to see them say what they said about it.”
