Elon Musk Expands Family, Welcomes 4th Child with Shivon Zilis, Bringing His Total to 14 Children
Elon Musk, the tech mogul and SpaceX founder, has welcomed a fourth child with Shivon Zilis, a top executive at his company Neuralink. Their son, Seldon Lycurgus, marks another addition to Musk’s growing family, bringing his total number of children to at least 14. This milestone comes amidst his complex family dynamics involving multiple partners.
Musk’s first wife, Justine Wilson, gave birth to six of his children, including twins Griffin and Vivian, and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian. Tragically, their first child, Nevada, passed away from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). His relationship with his eldest child, Vivian Jenna Wilson, has been strained, as she legally changed her name and gender, publicly severing ties with Musk.
In addition to his children with Wilson, Musk shares three children with musician Grimes, including X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus. The couple has faced public custody disputes over their children.
Musk has often spoken about his strong belief in procreation, citing the “underpopulation crisis” as a critical issue for civilization. In 2022, he tweeted, “Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis. A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far.”
Shivon Zilis, who has worked closely with Musk at Neuralink, has openly discussed their decision to have children together. As shared in Walter Isaacson’s biography of Musk, Zilis reflected on her choice, saying, “He really wants smart people to have kids, so he encouraged me to. If the choice is between an anonymous sperm donor or doing it with the person you admire most in the world, for me that was a pretty f–king easy decision.”
Zilis announced the birth of Seldon Lycurgus on social media, sharing the news alongside a heartfelt message. “Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful Arcadia’s birthday, we felt it was better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus,” she wrote.
While Musk has yet to publicly address the paternity claim made by conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair, who alleges that Musk fathered her child, his response to Zilis’ announcement was a simple heart emoji. Musk’s family life continues to be a subject of public intrigue as his personal and professional lives remain intertwined
