These photos were taken by guide Daryl Dell at Ngala Nature Reserve (South Africa).

The antelopes fled into the river when the wild dogs chased.

Even though they were in the water, they were still not out of danger when the giant hippo ferociously opened its terrifying mouth.

Then, it was the turn of the hungry crocodiles to attack the antelope.

Daryl Dell – who took these photos, said that the hippo was angry and attacked the antelope because it thought it was encroaching on its territory. After a few missed bites, the hippopotamus gave up so the antelope was able to escape safely.

Although the water is full of dangers, the antelope is still there waiting for the stray dogs to leave.
